I’m a dermatologist – 5 things that will NEVER touch my skin as an expert including ‘natural’ deodorants
ANYONE who wants to have clear, healthy skin will be interested in the views of an expert.
One woman just revealed the skincare advice she thinks everyone should know about.
The TikToking dermatologist who runs the @SkinYoureInBlog account has a list of five things she’ll never put on her face or other body parts.
With over 45,800 TikTok followers, tons of people are already listening to her helpful suggestions.
“I’m going to share the five things I would never put on my skin as a dermatologist,” she says at the beginning of the video.
Flushable Wipes
The first item she talks about is flushable wipes.

She says: “Flushable wipes contain fragrances and preservatives that have known allergens that cause a lot of itching.
“If you’re having chronic itching down there and you’re using these, they are probably the cause.
“If you want to feel fresh after you go, just invest in a bidet.”
Natural deodorant
Next up, she advises against wearing natural deodorants.

She says: “Natural products are not necessarily better.
“Natural deodorants are a common cause of itchy rashes underneath your armpits.
“If you’re concerned with odor and don’t want to use [name brands], just use benzoyl peroxide wash in your armpits.”
DIY Skincare With Lemons or Limes
Every DIY skincare idea you might consider might not always be a great idea, she explains.
She says: “Lemons are too acidic for your skin and can impair your skin barrier causing exacerbations of all sorts of skin problems.
“Also, it’s known to cause a photo-toxic reaction when exposed to the sun.”
Heating Pads
After that, she explains why putting heating pads on your body isn’t the smartest move.
“I’m not opposed to the occasional use of heating pads.
“But the chronic use of heating pads actually causes skin pigmentation changes due to the chronic heat,” she explains.
She shows an example photo of a person’s back that’s completely covered in an unsightly rash from heating pads.
Neosporin
Although many people might believe Neosporin is the best product to use when healing a cut or scrape, the dermatologist revealed she doesn’t love the product.
She says: “Neosporin does not prevent infections. It is a very common culprit of contact dermatitis.
“Neomycin ingredient in Neosporin was the 2010 Contact Allergen of the Year.”
She suggests gently cleaning your wounds with soap and water before applying Vaseline.
More than 2000 people have responded in her comment section on TikTok.
