Love Island bosses axe fan favourite twist from final for first time in show’s history
LOVE Island bosses have SCRAPPED the twist at the end of the final where the winners choose to share or steal the prize money.
Tonight’s triumphant couple will not have to take part in the awkward envelope scene, with one containing £0 and one containing £50k, for the first time in Love Island‘s history.
Viewers have long argued the clunky moment is an unnecessary scene and now ITV has responded to the feedback.
A show source said: “The decision to split or keep the money has gone, so when the couple wins they will automatically share the prize money.
“This has been a series with a number of format changes, including the viewers’ choice in the first recoupling, just to keep the show feeling fresh.”
No couple has ever chosen to steal the money in Love Island’s global history.

It comes after The Sun revealed bombshell texts from Ekin-Su Culculoglu to a friend outlined how she’d be “tempted” to steal the whole prize pot if her connection wasn’t genuine.
Asked what Ekin thought she would do if she won, the Turkish actress, 27, wrote: “It’s a game show at the end of the day, it’s business. If it’s not genuine I’d be tempted.
“But I’m at the right age to find the right guy. I know what I’m looking for. I want to find The One.”
