Police agency plans
crackdown on DUIs
The Central Marin Police Authority says it is planning extra patrols this month to look for intoxicated drivers in Corte Madera, Larkspur and San Anselmo.
Funding for the program comes from the California Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Greenbrae neighbors
appeal home project
A proposal to build a second-story addition to a home in Greenbrae has been appealed to the City Council.
The owners of 355 Bretano Way applied for permits to construct a 847-square-foot addition on the west side of the single-story home, 2,285-square-foot home.
The city Planning Commission held a hearing on July 26 and approved the project. A family at 345 Bretano Way appealed the decision, citing the prospective loss of privacy and sunlight.

BELVEDERE
Board sets hearings
on building projects
The Planning Commission has scheduled hearings on three residential demolition projects.
One proposal calls for tearing down the garage at 28 Eucalyptus Road and building another garage with storage below. Another calls for demolishing the one-story home at 135 Belvedere Ave. and building a 12,449-square-foot, four-story residence with an attached garage and an apartment. The other project calls for removing the 2,414-square-foot home at 68 Lagoon Road and building a 2,976-square-foot residence with a two-car garage.
The commission plans to review the projects during its meeting starting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20.
SAUSALITO
Boating club seeks
permit for expansion
The Sausalito Yacht Club has applied for a permit to remodel the kitchen and storage areas and build a wider gangway.
The project would add 323 square feet of floor area. The city planning staff has recommended that the commission approve the application.
The Planning Commission has scheduled a hearing on the proposal during its meeting starting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7.
