Two fighting for life after log flume cart derails injuring four in Brit holiday hotspot

TWO thrillseekers have been left fighting for their life after a log flume cart derailed at a popular theme park in a holiday hotspot.

The horror accident which happened on Tuesday in Allou Fun Park in Athens, Greece has left four people injured.

The crash occurred when the water ride La Isla derailed while at high speed sending the four visitors crashing into some bushes on the ground.

A 21-year-old woman has been admitted to intensive care while a 24-year-old man suffered a ruptured spleen, Proto Thema reports.

Another woman, 22, was taken to the hospital after having suffered a concussion.

A man was also taken to the General State Hospital of Nicaea with minor injuries.

He is said to have told ANT1 TV, that the theme park’s officials blamed the four visitors for the accident claiming they were “standing up”.

Police officers who rushed to the scene launched an investigation into the incident and arrested the theme park’s shift manager and the legal representative.

The popular ride is considered one of the safest at the theme park with each carriage carrying up to four people reaching heights of nearly 50ft before plummeting into the water.

Sources told the outlet the reason behind the accident was that the water level was not within the required limits.

It comes after earlier this week a spinning fairground ride malfunctioned plummeting 50ft to the ground leaving 50 people injured.

Last month 30 people were injured after a rollercoaster crashed at the Legoland park in Guenzburg, Germany
