The Hotel People viewers appalled by ‘disgusting’ wedding guests’ behaviour – raging ‘they should be mortified!’
VIEWERS were left stunned when tuning into the latest edition of BBC’s The Hotel People.
The series documents the life at one of Northern Ireland’s most exclusive hotel chains.
Hastings Hotels is being chronicled in the new six-part BBC Two series and the business operates six venues in Northern Ireland, including the region’s latest five-star outpost, Grand Central Hotel, and is still operated by the family who first founded the chain.
But viewers were left stunned by the behaviour of some of the guests featured in the latest edition of the show.
In the episode, a wedding party descended on the hotel and they certainly left their mark.
A day after the wedding, viewers were told how the guests had caused disruption across the hotel, leaving parts of it trashed and covered in litter and cigarette butts.

Concerned staff were called to an emergency meeting as a result of the guests’ “challenging” behaviour.
In the meeting, staff discussed how they were shouted at and swore at during the ceremony – with one member of staff confirming the DJ refused to stop the music at the required time and subsequently threw a microphone at the staff member, causing manager Lisa to bar him from entering the hotels again.
She further revealed despite the party being shut down early due to staff concerns, one room had their own party in the early hours with 25-30 guests being found in one singular room leading to the police to be called.
The marriage also had a further rocky start as the bride and groom were overheard having a furious ‘domestic’ just hours after their nuptials.

Viewers raced to Twitter to share their shock and expressed their sympathies with the staff at the hotel.
One viewer wrote: “I hope the disgusting wedding guests apologise for the shocking behaviour. No hotel and its staff should have to put up with that. #TheHotelPeople”
Another concerned viewer summaised: “Mortified if that was your wedding on #TheHotelPeople. Another example of how people no longer know how to behave!!”
A third said: “Wonder if the wedding attendees are watching #TheHotelPeople…? ”
With another adding: “The staff in #TheHotelPeople deserve better clients, I’m thinking…”
It’s just the latest issue with the show which has had fans talking.
The five star hotel is usually praised for its glitz and glam but viewers had been left shocked to see how little staff were being paid.

Viewers rushed to Twitter to share their anguish and disgust over how little the employees at the hotel appeared to be getting paid and the hours they were required to work.
Cast member Kieran revealed that despite only being contracted to work 45 hours in his first week he actually worked 75.
He further admitted that after working there for two weeks he had actually ‘lost nine pounds’ and described it as ‘unhealthy’.
