I’m trolled as a lazy parent for the method I used to sleep train my daughter, it’s worked & was doctor recommended

MOST parents will try anything to get their children to sleep through the night.

But one mum has been slammed for being ‘lazy’ for the technique she used.

Elizabeth revealed her doctor recommended the method after endless nights of no sleep, but not everyone agreed on the technique

Sharing her experience on TikTok, Elizabeth Maclay, from the US, revealed she used the cry-it-out method to get her daughter to sleep on her own.

In the short clip, she said: “One of the most frequently asked questions is how did I get my daughter to fall asleep on her own, by simply laying her down in her crib and walking out?”

Elizabeth then records her daughter’s bedroom door, where you can hear her crying from behind it.

“The answer is simple, though this method is not for everyone,” she added before she revealed she used the cry-it-out method.

While plenty of people claimed they could never use the method on their kids, Elizabeth states it was recommended by her doctor after endless nights of not sleeping.

“She was taking FOUR HOURS to rock to sleep at bedtime and no longer sleeping for ANY naps,” the mum revealed.

Elizabeth admits hearing her daughter cry upsets her – but the benefits of her daughter and the rest of the house getting a good night’s sleep outweighs it.

She revealed that on the first night, her daughter cried for 26 minutes straight, and Elizabeth came in every so often to help soothe her.

On the third night, her daughter cried for less than a minute and instantly fell asleep, and now her daughter doesn’t cry at all when going to bed.

She captioned the post: “I have been asked about how I trained Mila to fall asleep on her own, so I wanted to finally share.

“I know this post may cause controversy and spark a difference of opinions, & I am only sharing what worked for my baby and my family.

“This method worked well for us, and I am so glad we did it. What are your thoughts on sleep training?”

Although the mum expressed her doctors had recommended the method, some trolls called the mum ‘lazy’ for using the technique.

One wrote: “I call this method.. the lazy parenting method.”

Another commented: “This is actually traumatizing for the babies. I did this and now my baby doesn’t sleep through the night without my smell. He is more clingy now

A third penned: “Can’t finish this vid. She’s afraid of being alone in a room. She needs someone yet no one comes to her so she just sleeps coz she’s tired of crying.”

However, lots of parents took to the comments and revealed it was the only method that worked for them.
