Taliban Members’ Grenade ‘Accidentally’ Explodes Killing 1 and Injuring 4 People
One person was killed and four people, including women and children, were injured when a grenade belonging to Taliban members in the Faryab province of northern Afghanistan accidentally exploded.
The grenade explosion took place in police district 2 of Maimana city, the provincial capital of Faryab, on Tuesday, the 6th of September.
The Faryab province security authorities of the Taliban government confirming the incident stated that the hand grenade was “accidentally” thrown.
Officials also said that two people had been detained in connection with the grenade explosion, while an investigation was still ongoing.
According to a source who spoke to the media, two Taliban men were on a motorcycle when the grenade pin unintentionally came out, prompting them to throw the grenade away.
One man was killed in the Faryab province grenade explosion because of the seriousness of his injuries, and three other people—a man, two women, and a child—were also wounded.
This occurs at a time when the people of Afghanistan are suffering from a variety of natural disasters, such as earthquakes and flash floods brought on by heavy rains, as well as rising crime rates, traffic accidents, and, to top it all off, the carelessness of Taliban members.
