“Puppy season is here and that means we have to have a conversation some people might not like and that is breed matters when you are picking a dog to bring into your family based on the lifestyle you live,” Jeff says at the start of the video.
To further emphasize his point, Jeff even captions the video, “Picking the right breed or breeds for your lifestyle is important.”
He goes on to say that different dog breeds have different lifestyle requirements which may not fit well for every home.

He proceeds to show viewers his two cattle dogs, known for being an incredibly active breed.
Some of the top cattle herding dogs in America are Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, Australian Kelpies, Australian Cattle Dogs, Cardigan Welsh Corgis, and more.
“They always have to be doing something, and since I don’t have any cattle to work, it means every day they need walks, runs, hikes, something,” Jeff explains.
He makes sure to keep his dogs busy on a day-to-day basis with puzzle feeders, an object to slow down food consumption and provide dogs with mental stimulation to enhance their emotional wellbeing and prevents boredom.
He goes on to address how doing proper research when choosing a puppy pet is important, so you don’t end up confused as to why your dog is acting a certain way.

To advance his thought, he uses the example of husky destroying furniture while you’re at work all day or why a french bulldog can’t take five-mile hikes in the summer with its owner.
In the end, Jeff reaffirms that research and review are key when choosing a dog breed to bring into your life because it’s not an easy task.
