Despite becoming a Kyrgyz citizen, Aigul, an ethnic Kyrgyz from Xinjiang, still lives in fear of Chinese government persecution. She was "tricked" by the Chinese Embassy to cross the border into China, where she spent a month in a detention camp. She was also forced to cut all ties to her relatives.
