Kent Referee’s Pre-Season Conference 2022
Kent Referee’s Pre-Season Conference
Kent Society Of Rugby Referee’s held their Pre-Season Conference on Sunday 4th Sept at Sutton Valance School. We had 80 attendees on the day almost a full compliment of our referee membership.
The membership has grown over the last few months resulting with new recruits from our Introduction to Refereeing Course. We have a mix of female, men and youth and in a good position to cover many more games this season. We would like clubs to be patient and look after our new referees as they learn and grow.
Our speaker for the day was Dean Richards, Ex Premiership referee and Assistant Referee and TMO. He took the referees through the new laws and the significance of the ‘Break foot’. Many thanks for his contribution on the day.
There was an award given out for long service to Gareth Waldron and many awards (polo shirt) as a gift for completing more than 20 games in a season.
Wooden Spoon Charity attended on the day to receive 2 cheques, one for £1000 from Kent Referees Society and one from ‘The Rugby Project’ initiative amounting to £657.
To finish the day, 16 referees completed a Bronco fitness test and resulted in some stunning performances.
If you would like to become a referee check out our page on becoming a referee. We would love to have you.
Our Referee Advisors also clocked up more than 20 games too!
To the right Gareth Waldron receiving his Long Service Award.
