Police said 1,700 personnel from the Tamil Nadu Special Police, the Special Task Force and the Commando Police Force were mobilized from Salem, Trichy, Pudukkottai, Karur, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Thanjavur, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Dindigul, Theni, Ramanathapuram, Sivaganga and Tuticorin districts. They reached Coimbatore city on Saturday morning.
