NATIONAL SUMMARY
A storm sweeping through the Northeast today will bring
wintry weather with it from the Great Lakes to the Eastern
Seaboard. Snow is forecast to accumulate from Michigan to
southern Connecticut and the Hudson Valley, with higher
amount expected in the mountains. Snowflakes will mix with
rain in coastal locations. Chilly but dry conditions are
forecast north of the storm in northern New England, as well
as behind the storm in the northern Plains. Meanwhile,
rounds of rain and some thunder are expected across the
central Appalachians to the Louisiana Gulf Coast. At the
same time, a storm will move across the western U.S.,
bringing rain to the California coast while the Sierra
Nevada and interior West get another helping of snow.
Widespread travel disruptions are likely.
