Rohit Sharma Welcomes Ishan Kishan Into 200 Club With A Heartfelt Post
New Delhi: Ishan Kishan whacked a blazing double century in the third and final ODI against Bangladesh to lead India to a brilliant 227-run win. Kishan smashed 24 fours and 10 sixes during the marathon innings, joining Rohit Sharma, Sachin Tendulkar, Martin Guptill, Chris Gayle and Fakhar Zaman in the elite list of players with ODI double century. Interestingly, Kishan got an opportunity to play the game in place of Rohit Sharma, who was ruled out after sustaining a thumb injury in the second ODI.
Rohit Sharma now has reacted to Ishan Kishan’s brilliant double hundred. “Ye club ka maza alag hai,” wrote Rohit while welcoming him to the 200 club.
Kishan’s 210 clubbed with Virat Kohli’s century helped India post a mammoth total of 409-8 in 50 overs. The total proved more than enough as India registered a big win by 227 runs. Meanwhile, Kishan wasn’t satisfied with the double hundred and wanted to give a shot at 300.
“When I got out, 15 overs were left,” Kishan said. “That’s 90 balls. If you play 45 balls, it’s easy to get another hundred when you are that set. Bowlers are under pressure. I was in the zone to get 300, but unfortunately I didn’t… But it was special one to get my name up there with so many legend players.”
Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if Kishan keeps his place in the team when Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant return to the team. However, Kishan said that he is not insecure about his place in the team.
“I don’t know,” Kishan said at the post match conference. “I don’t think these things. All I can do is, whenever I get my chance, I want to do well. I don’t want to talk, I want to let the bat talk. Whether there is a place for me or not.”
