Journalist hints that England star ‘could be tempted’ by Spurs switch
Journalist Dean Jones has predicted that Tottenham target Jordan Pickford could decide to leave Goodison Park to pursue a bigger challenge.
While Hugo Lloris has been a fantastic servant to Tottenham for more than a decade, reports over recent months have indicated that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have held conversations about replacing the Frenchman next summer (Evening Standard).
Journalist Graeme Bailey told TEAMtalk last month that Pickford is one of three goalkeepers on the North London club’s shortlist to replace Lloris. He added that Brighton’s Robert Sanchez and Leeds’ Illan Meslier are the two other alternatives that Antonio Conte’s men are monitoring.
This is not the first time that Pickford has been mooted as a target for Spurs, with 90 min claiming during the summer that Tottenham enquired about the Everton number one while negotiating with the Toffees for Richarlison.
Jones has now backed up Tottenham’s interest in the 28-year-old in his column in GiveMeSport, suggesting that the Lilywhites are eyeing a move for the England number one.
He further added that Pickford himself could be tempted to move to a better-performing club after having spent so long at Everton.

Lloris did make a few mistakes in the first part of the campaign but the Frenchman is more than capable of having a strong second half of the season and shutting up his critics.
So, I would not rule out the possibility of the 35-year-old staying at Tottenham for another two years. However, if Spurs are looking to replace Lloris, I would certainly take Pickford, although the England star would be more expensive than a few other alternatives.
