#LAKings Rapid Review: Notes and Highlights from Kings OT Victory in Boston (MayorsManor)
Trevor Moore signed a five-year contract extension before Thursday’s game in Boston, then went out and added a cherry on top by scoring in the seventh round of the shootout — giving the Kings a 3-2 win over the Boston Bruins.
Looking for some signs of life coming off their dismal third period performance in Buffalo, coach Todd McLellan made several lineup changes for the final stop of the team’s six-game road trip. Rasmus Kupari drew back in on the fourth line, while Alex Iafallo moved up to the second line in the continued absence of Viktor Arvidsson. However, perhaps the biggest surprise was going back-to-back with goalie Pheonix Copley. However, the veteran netminder did his part, making 33 saves and earning his third victory in four starts with LA.
As the Kings have shown several times of late (albeit inconsistently), they put a healthy dose of fight on full display. Down 2-0 after 40 minutes to one the league’s best teams — and a Bruins club that only lost at home once all season. Adrian Kempe notched a pair of goals to make it 2-2 after regulation ended. Then, Moore eventually helped LA claim two points in the shootout. They finished the road trip with a 3-2-1 record.
