Trolls slammed my teeth so I went to Turkey for a new set – but now everyone is saying the same thing about my smile
A WOMAN has revealed that she jetted off to Turkey to get a bright, white set of veneers, but trolls are now saying the same thing about her smile.
Lauren, known on social media as @laursiedleckii, took to TikTok to open up on her dental journey.
The beauty fan revealed how she went to extreme lengths to get the ultimate bright, white smile.
She is just one of many who have jetted off to Turkey to get their teeth done, in a trend that has been dubbed “Turkey teeth”.
The TikTok hashtag “#TurkeyTeeth” has even reached more than 130 million views.
Several reality TV influencers and celebrities have also had veneers done, including former Love Island star Jack Fincham and Katie Price.
The procedure of having crowns done can be aggressive and invasive to teeth – as they require almost 70% of your teeth to be filed down.
Sharing the journey of her grand makeover to TikTok, Lauren revealed that she would often receive abuse from trolls regarding her teeth, so made the decision to jet off to Turkey to get them fixed.
She posted her clip with the caption ‘Thank you for all the hate comments, I got my teeth fixed’ and said: “Come to Turkey with me to get veneers.”
Lauren shared two images of her prior to the dental procedure, as she showed off her natural teeth.
We then saw Lauren film outside the plane window as she jetted off to Turkey.
Following this, Lauren shared an image of her in the dentist’s chair, halfway through the procedure.
Her mouth was covered in blood and she had her teeth shaved down, ready for the veneers to be applied.
Once the veneers were complete, Lauren revealed: “I am so happy.
“Life changing.”
Her video has clearly shocked many, as it has racked up 135.1k views.
It has 1,868 likes, 135 comments and 247 shares.
However, TikTok users were all left saying the same thing – that Lauren’s teeth weren’t bad prior to the procedure and that they didn’t think she needed the veneers done.
One person said: “Your teeth were perfect.”
Another added: “Your teeth were fine” to which Lauren claimed “No they were not they were broken.”
A third commented: “What’s wrong with you people!? Omg! Yours were just so beautiful.”
Meanwhile, another user posted: “Your before were way better. And now you’ve permanently ruined your teeth! All to ‘fit in!’ Todays society!” to which Lauren responded “Cause I changed my only insecurity.”
Whilst someone else noted: “Braces would have fix it much better! You murdered your teeth, wow! People, please read and educate yourself before doing this catastrophic change.”
Lauren then explained: “I couldn’t whiten my teeth as the composite would always be a different colour so after many years I made the decision to get veneers.
“The composite bonding always used to discolour leaving marks and lines and making my teeth look dead especially my front tooth.”
