Health min inspects mock drill, says state ready for exigencies

The health minister of Ranchi, Banna Gupta, inspected a mock drill at the Ranchi District Hospital on Tuesday where health officials performed the entire exercise of attending to a Covid19 patient right from the wheeling-in of the patient in an ambulance and taking the person to the hospital. The drill, which is part of the nationwide drive, was also held across the state. After the exercise, Gupta said the state is ready to deal with any situation and shortcomings if any surfacing from the statewide drill. Demonstrations were made where a patient arrived by ambulance before the health minister representing the preparedness of doctors and the hospital to assist the patient. The minister said "there is no reason to fear the Covid19 situation." Gupta also expressed confidence in his doctors and said after tackling the previous waves the health experts have gained sufficient exposure "the doctors have gained a great deal of experience during the previous waves therefore we have experienced doctors assisting us following the mock drill we are determined to combat any infection outbreak and have sufficient equipment to handle any situation."
