Letters, Dec. 28, 2023: Red tape hampers foreign-trained pharmacists
The Certificate to Canadian Pharmacy Practice is a new bridging program introduced in April 2021 for internationally educated pharmacy graduates as a mandatory requirement to get entry-to-practise by Alberta College of Pharmacy. The program is supposedly designed to build on and further develop their knowledge and skills to be "competent" and "confident" practitioners. Unfortunately, it is not much of a benefit for those who have already written and passed the qualifying exams because most of the course content is merely a repetition of material they rigorously trained on before writing exams.
