Harry Kane earns Premier League record that was 32 games in the making

Harry Kane made history against Brentford on Boxing Day with his goal confirming his status as the only player in Premier League history to score against every team he has faced.

The 29-year-old captain had previously scored against 31 of the 32 teams he’d faced, with the Bees being the final piece of the puzzle.

Kane was named in Antonio Conte’s starting eleven for the first match back after the World Cup with the England captain looking to put his quarter-final penalty heartbreak against France behind him.

Tottenham found themselves 2-0 behind and it looked as if the north Londoners were suffering a post-Qatar hangover until Kane, who was captaining the side in the absence of Hugo Lloris rose high to head home Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s cross from the left, with the Dane levelling the score six minutes later.

Kane nearly got himself a second late on when leapt high to beat goalkeeper David Raya in the air only to see his header bounce against the bar.

Kane struggled to get into the game during the first half with Spurs lacking creativity in the midfield ranks with Yves Bissouma especially struggling to get into the game. Fabio Paratici and co have to look to bring in some creative reinforcements to help supply the ammunition to the Spurs marksman.
