Both legislative assembly and legislative council have their own committees dealing with subjects related to governance, law-making and people-facing. The assembly has committees of public accounts; estimates; petition; government assurances; welfare of SC/STs; welfare of backward classes and minorities, women and children; library; and panchayat raj; among others.
