The encounter started when the quick response teams (QRT) deployed for the security of the highway spotted unusual movement of a truck along the Jammu-Udhampur highway. They directed the driver to stop at the checkpoint near the Sidhra area. According to police, the driver stopped the truck and fled from the spot abandoning the vehicle.
