I’m 6’2″ and my boyfriend is 5’6″ – people call us ‘tall queen and short king,’ some wonder if he calls me ‘mommy’
ONLOOKERS often do a double-take when they look at this couple, but the love bugs are used to it.
In fact, the pair are happy to show off their eight-inch height difference, especially when strangers discuss their “tall queen and short king” energy.
College students Ellie and Lucas, both 22, have been dating for over a year, though they were best friends long before.
They’re just like any other couple in many ways, but there’s one unique attribute that’s noticeable immediately: their height difference.
Ellie is 6’2″ tall, while Lucas, a wrestler, is only 5’6″. But the lovebirds aren’t self-conscious about their sizes.
In fact, they happily took part in a gender-swapped version of a TikTok trend, measuring up to each other while SZA’s song Big Boy played.
“I love this trend because I am the big boy of our relationship,” Ellie wrote.
She and Lucas stood next to one another in hoodies and sweatshirts. Side-by-side, Ellie’s beloved boyfriend came up to her chin.
Commenters were fascinated by the couple’s dynamic, with many speculating on aspects of their personal life.
“No way he doesn’t say mommy,” one commenter wrote. Dozens of other people agreed or expressed the same sentiment.
Another person told Ellie, “I hope you pick him up and call him princess.”
The “royalty” theme was prevalent, with one person referring to the duo as a “short king and tall queen.”
Male and female commenters expressed plenty of envy, too.
“I live for this because it’s a PERFECT duo,” one woman said wistfully.
“I feel like every guy secretly wants this,” someone else wrote.
A self-proclaimed short king proudly responded to the comment, “I got it.”
“He’s safe and secure and he knows it,” another chimed in, describing Lucas and his confident stance.
Short men and tall women thanked the couple for representing their own relationships in the clip.
“Been there a couple times,” one man wrote. “Always worth the climb.”
Another woman shared a phrase she’d heard from a customer at work when he saw a very tall woman in her store.
“The greatest kings eat at the biggest table,” she quoted. “LOVE IT!”
