I’m a cleaning whizz and my 80p hack is perfect for cleaning kitchen tiles and never leaves any streaks
KITCHEN tiles can become dirty over time because of splashes of grease and grime.
But it turns out the tiles are loads easier to clean than you might think and you don’t even need to fork out for any pricey products.
Cleaning whizz Kaye Marie showed how she manages to keep her kitchen tiles and backsplash pristine on a budget.
When one TikTok user told Kaye that they were struggling with keeping them clean, she shared a cheap and easy hack.
All you need is some good old fashioned washing up liquid and water.
“Fill the sink or a bucket with a small amount of the washing up liquid, for me, Fairy wins every single time,” the keen cleaner explained.
Once the sink is full of soapy water grab a microfibre cloth and soak it in the suds before wringing it out.
“You don’t want too much product on it and you definitely don’t want it sopping wet,” Kaye said.
She added: “The washing up liquid is going to break down any any grease, and with Fairy it’s also going to leave a really nice shine.”
After the tiles have had a good wipe it’s important to dry them off, not leave them to air dry.
For this, Kaye uses an old, but clean, cotton tea towel, “you can also use a glass cloth but a tea towel does go a lot further,” she explained.
“Cleaning tiles without drying down is a no-no, you’re going to have clouds,” she said.
The cleaning whizz also recommended keeping on top of cleaning and giving tiles a quick clean after cooking to prevent the build up of grease.
Viewers loved the cheap trick, one said: “You can clean anything with washing up liquid, it’s so underrated!”
A second commented: “Thank you! Saved me from going insane!!”
And another wrote: “Fairy works for everything!”
