Dragons’ Den Peter Jones throws prop at Steven Bartlett and brands him a ‘diva’ halfway through pitch
DRAGONS’ Den star Peter Jones threw a prop at Steven Bartlett and branded him a ‘diva’ during a pitch.
The new series of the entreprenuer show kicked off on Thursday night on BBC One.
It saw new business owners enter the den and pitch to the dragons in the hope of them backing their businesses.
Deborah Meaden, Sara Davies, Touker Suleyman, Peter Jones and Steven Bartlett are all back for the new instalment.
However, things got heated during one pitch.
Business partners Jordan and Nicholas presented their idea which was a one-hour fitness class called Drag Diva Fit.
The company aimed to help its customers lose weight by performing drag numbers.
In a bid to win over the dragons they each were given a complimentary merchandise bag.
Included in the bag was a rainbow fan and a banner that carried a personal message for each dragon.
But when it came to talking business, Steven Bartlett wasn’t impressed by the pitch.
Speaking to Jordan and Nicholas, he said: “This is some of the worst merchandise I’ve ever seen in my life. That’s your logo? You can’t read your name in it.”
But Jordan hit back at the business tycoon and said: “This is why we’re coming to you because we’re looking for somebody who has the expertise.”
However, Peter Jones, who is the youngest dragon, defended the contestants.
He threw his banner at Steven before saying: “I think Steven’s being a bit of a diva.”
Despite Jordan and Nicholas making an impression on the dragons, all five decided not to invest in their business.
Dragons’ Den airs on BBC One and iPlayer.
