US bans import of fresh bell peppers from Spain due to Medfly

The US has banned the import of fresh bell peppers for consumption from Spain due to detection of the Mediterranean fruit fly, or 'Medfly', the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (Aphis) of the US Department of Agriculture has reported.
