AAP had earlier objected to the ten people appointed as aldermen by Delhi LG VK Saxena to the newly elected MCD, alleging that they are all BJP members. Aldermen do not have voting rights in the mayor and deputy mayor elections and only elected councillors can exercise their franchise.
