Allison Williams Reveals Impact Motherhood Had on Her 'M3GAN' Role, Promotes Horror Movie In New York City
Allison Williams opened up about her horror movie M3GAN in a new interview.
The 34-year-old Girls actress plays Gemma, a toy-maker who creates the AI doll M3GAN to protect her adopted niece Cady (Violet McGraw).
Like in any good horror movie, her well-intentioned actions inadvertently wreck havoc after the toy takes on a mind of its own.
While she hasn’t ever created an AI murder-bot before, Allison revealed how she was able to form a connection with her character while chatting with Town & Country.

Allison explained that motherhood changed her perception of Gemma.
“I became a mom, and that made it all much more interesting, because that’s Gemma’s whole arc,” she told the outlet. Her character ends up with two kids: “One that she created from scratch and the other that she inherited, who, while sharing her DNA, is not her own.”
“That was going to be complicated, but it also became more interesting as a performer to bring this person to life, having a greater appreciation of the stakes of that,” she continued.
Speaking of M3GAN, Allison was spotted out in New York City promoting the new movie on Thursday (January 5). She wore three different looks and filmed an appearance on the Today Show.
M3GAN premiered in theaters on January 6.
