Dragon’s Den feud as Steven Bartlett slams rival in perfume row
STEVEN BARTLETT and Touker Suleyman erupted into a vicious row on tonight’s edition of Dragons Den.
Buisness trio Omar, Aston and Suzanne tried to pitch their ‘Potion’ fragrance buisness for potential investment.
Events got extremely heated during deliberations over the personalised perfume concept on Dragons Den.
Steven, 30, and Touker, 69, vehemently disagreed as they debated the quality of the prospective product.
Touker explained: “I think the packaging is great, but the rest of it looks like somebody’s on the corner Oxford Street, trying to sell fake boxes, which look fantastic.”
Steven exclaimed: “You are talking rubbish Touker, you’re talking rubbish!”
The retail mogul tried to continue as he explained: “Honestly, this is me personally. I think fragrances …”
Sara Davies was caught up in the crossfire, as although she said nothing, she gave ominous looks to the camera and to her fellow Dragons.
The global podcast host was not liking what he heard from his co-star and he kept on interrupting his speech to the pitchers.
Although The Diary Of A CEO presenter did let his fellow pannelist finish his point.
Touker explained : “For that reason, I just wish you all the best. But I can’t see myself on this journey. I’m out.”
Peter Jones eventually came in with a tough offer, with four times the equity the group were willing to give away.
But Steven was willing to stand up for the brave entrepreneurs, as he seemingly made a dig at the mogul when he made his offer.
He said: “When I first saw the brand, I fell in love with it,
“I think it’s beautiful and I can see how much you care about detail in so many ways.”
The personality matched the offer by Peter Jones, giving £50,000 for 25 per cent of the business.
Sara Davies followed up by making an offer for 15 per cent of the business, as she branded her fellow Dragons “greedy”.
She offered 10 per cent less than the others, as she also came in with a promise to get the group on television shopping networks.
The entrepreneur’s then tried to talk all three dragons to work with them before Peter and Steven offered their joint investment as a duo.
