Carol Kirkwood replaced on BBC Breakfast – and stand-in even offers apology to fans
CAROL Kirkwood was absent from BBC Breakfast this morning – as her replacement was forced to apologise to viewers.
Recently the weather host, 62, joined Naga and Charlie Stayt on the show to give viewers an update on the freezing weather conditions.
However, Naga couldn’t resist taking a swipe at Carol, referring to her outfit as ‘frosty’.
During the segment, Naga quipped: “You’re perfectly matched to the weather today aren’t you? Like frosty.”
Now, Carol is nowhere to be seen after the awkward exchange with Naga.
BBC Breakfast weather presenter Matt Taylor is instead standing in for her and he has apologised to the viewers for her absence.

After a segment on dog walking, Mark found himself awkwardly apologising.
He began: “Anyway, good morning–” before he was interrupted and had to apologise as he said: “Sorry! It’s Friday morning, I’m allowed!”
Naga chuckled at this before her and Jon moved on to another segment.
The cheeky comment Naga made was referring to Carol’s recent outfit on BBC Breakfast.
Fans branded the weather presenter “gorgeous” as she wore a figure-hugging navy dress for the broadcast.
The garment had a pastel blue trim around the neckline and a small bow in the middle.
The same detailing featured on the pockets of the dress which stood out when Carol turned in different directions in the camera.
BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One
