All the men in my family have the same first name – it wasn’t totally planned and we need ways to differentiate
A MUM has revealed that all the men in her family have the same first name – leaving people stunned.
Emily Sararas, took to TikTok to reveal the bizarre family tradition – though it wasn’t quite planned.
The mum revealed that all of the men in her family have the same name – Steve.
In a TikTok video, she said: “Pretty much everyone in my family has the same name.
“My dad’s name is Steve, so when I got pregnant with my first son, what did I name him?
“Steve.”
But to help the family differentiate, her son’s full name is actually Stephen.
But the story gets weirder.
Emily then revealed she was no longer with her son’s father, but asked viewers to guess her new partner’s name.
We’re sure you’ve guessed it, it’s Steve.
Her mum and dad also split up and her new partner also turned out to be a Steve.
“So yeah, literally everyone in my family, named Steve,” Emily added.
Fortunately, her new partner had always wanted to name a son the same name as him, so it all worked out.
She wrote in a comment: “Also my current partner Steve has always said he wants his firstborn son to be named after him. Luckily I won that battle #nomoresteves.”
The video soon went viral with over one million views and over 65k likes.
People quickly took to the comments to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “So much Steve it doesn’t sound like a real name now.”
Another person commented: “At your next family gathering shout “hey Steve!” You could make a TikTok out of it!”
“Why aren’t you named Stevie,” asked a third.
Emily said she almost was, replying: “My dad actually wanted to name me that haha.”
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “bro this is me with Tom. My dad’s name, my uncle’s name, my brother’s name, my friend’s name and my ex’s.”
“Okay so same. My name’s Stephanie. My Grandpa, Uncle, cousin, and cousin’s son are all Stephen,” claimed a fifth.
