The government of Haryana has rolled out a comprehensive assessment of the government-aided and self-financing colleges in the state in order to improve higher education in the state and record better performance in the national institutional rankings framework. The directorate of higher education earlier this week had announced that it would commence a holistic and comprehensive’ performance audit of all the colleges and universities in the state on Friday. All colleges will have to register their responses over key performance indicators and submit their report on a dedicated portal that will be live until January 31. The results of the survey will be released in February. The current performance audit is being carried out under the performance rating yardstick for academic audit standards, the framework that was launched in 2019. While in the first phase the department had evaluated the government colleges based on a transparent itenabled system, in the second phase the department intends to go deeper in assessing the strength and pain points of higher education in the state. “Haryana is very strong in terms of industries and commerce this places the state in an important position in terms of employment scope so now we intend to beef up our higher education sector so as to not only create a pool of wellqualified professionals and intellectuals but also become a leading destination for
