A group of miscreants attacked a 28-year-old factory worker and his two friends, chopping off one of the victim's ears. The police have booked the accused, who have been identified as Jaggi Kataria of Indrapuri Gaggi and his three unidentified accomplices. The complainant, Satwinder Singh of New Vijay Nagar, said he and his two friends, Bunty and Sagar, were standing in their locality when a car stopped near them around 8pm. The accused, who were armed with sharpedged and blunt weapons, alighted from the car and attacked them. Half of the victim's ear got chopped in the attack. The accused escaped in the car after thrashing them and they were rushed to the hospital by the onlookers. The investigating officer, Asi Jagdeesh Raj, said the police lodged an FIR against the accused under sections 341, 326, 506, 148, 149, and 304A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused will be arrested soon.
