The foundation stone for a new center of excellence for the integrated farming system was laid on Friday. The center will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 39 crore and will engage in research related to agriculture. It will have a laboratory and seminar hall to conduct training programmes for farmers, and an exhibition hall to help farmers understand the advancements in technology. The state and central governments have chalked out several programmes to increase the earnings of farmers under the PMKisan Samman Nidhi, a sum of Rs. 6000 from the center and Rs. 4000 from the state government are credited to the account of farmers.
