A leopard was captured on camera roaming around the basement area of a building in Greater Noida West's Ajnara Le Garden on December 27. A joint search operation was launched with seven teams, including those from Agra and Meerut, and the leopard was sighted on December 27 by a few residents. The search operation lasted 23 days, but the leopard was not found. On January 3, a security guard claimed to have seen the leopard. The society was immediately put on high alert and residents were told not to venture out without reason. Restrictions were then lifted and the residents were allowed to move around the society as per their wish. The forest department asked the society to see the basement so that they could feel safe.
