The central institute of psychiatry, CIP, will now provide mental health services, including checkup counselling and awareness about different mental conditions, to school children particularly adolescents of the Chiranjeevee concept school here. A memorandum of understanding (mou) in this regard was signed between the two institutes recently. CIP director, Dr. Basudeb Das, said "to promote healthy mental health among children and adolescents there is a need to construct programmes with the change of sociocultural environment for several reasons including the Covid pandemic." He added "our sessions will provide parents and teachers with the knowledge on the risk factors linked to a variety of childhood-onset psychiatric issues at a crucial juncture so that the presence of these difficulties does not impact them in formative years."
