A fire broke out in an electrical goods shop in the old city of Vadodara late on Thursday night. The entire shop was engulfed in the fire, which spread to the floors above where people were staying. However, the residents exited the property safely and no one was injured in the incident. Investigations are on to ascertain the reason behind the fire. It is believed that a short circuit may have caused the fire. Ten fire vans arrived at the scene and doused the flames after about two hours of operation. Senior VMC officials and Mayor Keyur Rokadia too arrived at the scene to take stock of the situation.
