Varanasi, India's most sacred city, is home to two of the most important Hindu temples in the world: Kaal Bhairav and Kashi Vishwanath. On Thursday night, the city's chief minister, Yogi Adityanath, accompanied by the BJP's national president, JP Nadda, visited both temples to offer prayers. Local residents and tourists greeted the leaders with chants of "har har mahadev" and "jai shri ram." On Friday morning, Yogi Adityanath and Nadda performed a shodshopachar puja (worship of the deity's sacred vessels) before Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirlinga on their way back to Varanasi. The two leaders stopped by a shop close to Kaal Bhairav Temple for a cup of tea on their way back.
