The statement also slammed the comment in the documentary that the Citizenship Amendment Act is anti-Muslim, and underlined that it is aimed at helping the minorities in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh who wish to return to India. It said BBC should rather make reports on Britain's "divide and rule" policy and the Bengal famine during the World War II under British rule.
