The Kanpur Development Authority (KDA) has sent two assistant engineers to the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) University in Ahmedabad, India, to participate in a capacity-building program for improving cities. The program will be held from January 23 to January 28, and the two officers will also study Gujarat International Finance Tech City (GIFT City), which is being developed on the lines of Mumbai as its financial capital. The purpose of the visit is for spot inspection and study. The study will be done on the prevailing best provisions regarding redevelopment of slum areas, riverfront development methods, development of botanical gardens, and establishment of new townships. The officers from other cities are also taking part in this workshop. In which information will be given regarding strategic planning. SB Rai, public relations officer for the KDA, said, "This workshop will help us improve our city planning skills and help us to be better prepared for future challenges."
