EastEnders fans left ‘absolutely wheezing’ as they spot ‘hysterical’ Billy Mitchell blunder during search for Lola
EASTENDERS fans were left in hysterics after Billy makes a HUGE blunder in his search for his granddaughter Lola Pearce’s mum.
In Monday’s episode, the market trader continued looking for Lola’s biological mother so she can attend her wedding.
He wrote an ad in the local paper and was delighted to find a someone that answered the ad.
They met up for coffee and talked about Lola being a “real handful” and “a little ball of mischief.”
The woman added how she went back to the home more than once to ask where she might be.
It wasn’t until she pulled out a can on pilchards that she was talking about her missing cat Lola.
A dumbfounded Billy was gutted that he wasn’t any closer to finding Lola’s mum.
Viewers were in stiches over the blunder and praised the comical moment for contrasting with the harrowing storyline.
Taking to Twitter, one fan said: “Billy posted his add to find Lola’s mum in the missing cats section. Hysterical.”
Another wrote: “Absolutely wheezing at the Lola and cat mixup.”
A third penned: “Lola the cat lol I’m dead. This episode has done such a good job of balancing comedy and drama this episode.”
Meanwhile, Sonia was suspicious of Billy after watching his exchange with the cat lady from afar.
She later approaches Honey and Billy in the market about what she saw.
“You’re playing a dangerous game letting him meet random women. You’re alright with that are you?” she asked Honey.
Sonia assumed they were in an open relationship leaving Honey and Billy amused.
Later in the Queen Vic, Phil offered to help Billy with his search.
Upcoming scenes see Phil give good news for Billy as he hands him the contact details for Lola’s mother.
But the young mother remains unaware of it all and, the morning of her wedding, she begins to feel very unwell.
Kim arrives to help her get ready and Lola admits she’s experiencing worrying symptoms.
Billy’s secret mission is well underway when he manages to find Emma at her work and tells her who he is.
Whether she agrees to follow him to her own daughter’s wedding remains to be seen but Jay finds Billy and berates him for going behind Lola’s back.
However, he’s rattled when he arrives at the wedding venue, only to notice Lola is nowhere to be seen.
Will Jay and Lola finally tie the knot? How will Lola react to her long lost mother returning?
EastEnders airs from Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
