I’ve got face tattoos & people think I’m a criminal – I don’t care, but I’ll change one because of its double meaning
A MUM-OF-TWO with face tattoos has told how people often assume she’s a “criminal” because of her appearance.
Luna, who posts under the handle @thatirishtwinmum, took to TikTok and posted a video where she can be seen responding to a social media user who asked: “Are you indigenous?
“Just because of your chin tattoo.”
In the clip, Luna begins: “I don’t want people to get the wrong idea.
“I know it’s easy for people to take one look at me and go ‘oh she’s a criminal, she’s this that and the other blah blah blah,’ which is not the case.
“I’m actually quite a nice person…or I like to think so anyway!
“It’s never my intention to upset anybody.”
She continues: “As my platform has grown, I’ve started to get a few comments about this.

“I wasn’t even aware about it being related to indigenous culture.
“When I got the tattoo which was like four years ago now, it was down to it being in depictions of Viking women which was very much my style and vibe at the time.
“So basically, I’m not going to be having it removed but I will at some point be having it added to, just so it pulls away from the double meaning its turned out to have and is more of what I wanted it to be.”
The video has since gone viral, garnering an impressive 229,000 views and endless comments.
“It’s nice that you explain, but you don’t have to change for TikTok, life is really all about the real world people we engage with!” wrote one.
Luna responded: “If I removed every tattoo that people didn’t like I wouldn’t have any left.”
A second penned: “In my experience I trust people covered in tattoos more than people that aren’t, our community is the best.”
Luna replied: “I smile at a tattooed person in the street they smile back. I smile at a granny and get daggers back – strange world.”
A third reassured: “Don’t apologise for being your self…..
My son has this done to him all the time!
“Never judge a book by its cover.”
Meanwhile, a further added: “I think you are absolutely gorgeous and I love all the tattoos – they look good on you.”
