Deputy Minister Moshe Abutbol along with other MKs from Shas have proposed a law today. The law was originally proposed back in 2004 by a Likud MK, Dr Leah Ness, and was proposed again last year by Abutbol. While it is clear the law did not pass on those occasions, I guess when Abutbol proposed it he was in Opposition so it didnt pass. When Ness proposed it Likud was in government (with Sharon as Prime Minister) but it was when he formed a government with Shniui and Labor, though at some point that coalition changed and I dont know ...
