Deadline for exam fee payment is now Jan 27

Mangalore University has extended the last date for the payment of examination fee from January 16 to January 27. This decision comes a day after TOI carried a report on difficulties faced by students in paying examination fee owing to technical glitches on the website. Under the headline " snag hits exam site," students who would have been unable to write the odd semester examinations slated to start from February 6 owing to problems they faced paying the examination fee can now heave a sigh of relief since they have been provided a few more days to do so. Mangalore University officials had failed to take cognisance of the issue despite staff at its affiliate colleges highlighting the problems the students were facing. An official circular released by the Mangalore University Registrar Evaluation on January 23 confirmed that pursuant to appeals from representatives of various colleges, the varsity had decided to extend the last date to January 27. Principal of a firstgrade college affiliated to Mangalore University dubbed the move a timely one which he said would benefit many students who were unable to pay their examination fee owing to snags on the University's UUCMS website. "Mangalore University must be more proactive and take such decisions before being prompted to do so following reports in publications," said the principal.
