IND v NZ: Conway Blames Lack Of Enough Partnerships For New Zealand’s 90-Run Defeat In Third ODI

New Delhi: Devon Conway has opened up about the reasons behind their loss in the third ODI against India. Conway stated that the pitch at Indore Stadium was batting friendly and that the Blackcaps should have scored more runs by forming strong partnerships.

“I felt the wicket was really nice to bat on; it was coming on nicely, and there wasn’t a heap of spin out there, so we just sort of missed the trick in building more partnerships and putting their bowlers under pressure for a long period of time,” Conway said.

Conway played a staggering knock of 138 runs against India in the third ODI while chasing a mighty 385-run target. His knock came out of 100 balls, in which he smashed 12 fours and 8 sixes.

Devon Conway stood up and held a wicket when other New Zealand batsmen couldn’t.

New Zealand captain Tom Latham made further comments about their disappointing loss against India. He also expressed his disappointment that their inning lasted only 40 overs and that they were unable to put up a fight.

“It’s our last experience in India before the World Cup, so the guys are exposed to these conditions in the three games, and hopefully it’ll be helpful in October.” We’re building depth in this group without Tim Southee and others. “Fingers crossed about my form for the World Cup,” Latham said after the match.

India will be looking forward to facing New Zealand in the first T20 on January 27 in Ranchi and keeping up the winning momentum.
