Beauty fans are only just realising they’ve been pronouncing a popular product all wrong – can you say it?
BEAUTY fans have only just realised they’re pronouncing a very popular beauty product wrong.
One nail technician – who works at The Gel Bottles HQ – blew people’s minds with her pronunciation of BIAB.
However, she assured that she pronounces it exactly how The Gel Bottle’s founder does… so she must be right.
BIAB is “Builder in a Bottle” gel that was created by the iconic nail care company as a stronger alternative to regular gel polish.
It differs from standard gel because it is harder and thicker, and the ingredients in it are meant to nourish your nails.
It needs to be cured under a UV light like regular polish but doesn’t have to be removed every trip to the nail salon, as a professional can infill the hard gel.
However, the product has now unsettled the beauty industry as people debate the right way to pronounce BIAB.
While logic says it should be pronounced bye-ab, this is not the case at The Gel Bottle’s head office.
The nail brand’s owner Daisy Kalnina actually pronounces it bee-ab.
Nail technician Tiffany Abbigaile revealed this after being challenged on her pronunciation during a Tik Tok video.
While doing her own nails, she kept pronouncing it as bee-ab.
Beauty fans flocked to the comments to challenge her but were soon set straight by Tiffany’s revelation that she pronounces it the exact same way as The Gel Bottle’s owner.
One person wailed: “Wait. We’re pronouncing it bee-ab?
“I’ve been saying bye-ab.”
Another quizzed: “But how can it sound like ‘e’? It’s BIAB.”
Tiffany assured: “I work at The Gel Bottle HQ. The owner of TGB pronounces it bee-ab.
“I also used to say bye-ab.”
To confirm her point was legit, she further penned in the comments: “BIAB has been Trademarked by The Gel Bottle Inc.
“It is a word.
“TGB created Builder in a Bottle.”
