[FRND] FCA Night scheduled for Saturday vs. Oklahoma Wesleyan
WICHITA, Kan. – The Friends University athletic department is excited to announce that the second annual "FCA Night at the Garvey" will take place this Saturday evening (Jan. 28) to coordinate with the home basketball games vs. Oklahoma Wesleyan University at 5 & 7 pm inside the Garvey Center.
"Keith Townsend has been a blessing to our athletic department and we're excited to help raise money for his ministry," said Dr. Rob Ramseyer, Friends University VP of Athletics & Strategic Expansion.
One dollar of every ticket sold will be donated back into the FCA program, operated by Townsend, Friends University's FCA Campus Representative. Additionally, there will be opportunities to donate to the program throughout the night.
Anyone unable to attend Saturday night are still able to donate to Townsend's program by clicking HERE.
"Saturday is an important day for a couple of reasons," said Friends women's basketball head coach Dean Jaderston. "For our team, getting our confidence back at home is huge as we have been battling a rash of injuries. Players are stepping into the gap but we're still struggling to find our chemistry second semester. More importantly for our athletic department, FCA plays a critical role in the spiritual lives and holistic health of our coaches and student-athletes. Being able to support and celebrate FCA on Saturday is a great opportunity for our Friends community and supporters."
Also on Saturday night, a reception will be held for current donors.
"Keith has been such a blessing to me since arriving on campus," said Friends men's basketball head coach Austin McBeth. "Spending time with him on a weekly basis is one of the things I look forward to all the time. He has such a heart for coaches and gives so much of his time to encourage and equip us for the work that we do. Thank you to everyone who is able to support him in his ministry."
