A QUARTER of randy Brits have broken their bed during an energetic sex session, a survey has revealed.
Younger lovers are most likely to claim their pit failed to take the strain during a romp.
Some 44 per cent of Gen Z lovers — the 18 to 24 age group — complained of cracked headboards, popped mattress springs and snapped bed legs.
More than a third of Millennials — those aged 25 to 39 — said they had damaged a bed during a bonk, falling to 20 per cent of 40 to 55-year-olds, known as Generation X.
Just eight per cent of Baby Boomers, those aged 55 to 74, said their bed had bust in the throes of passion.
Locals in Truro, Cornwall, were hardest on their beds during sex, with half claiming to have done theirs in.
In equal second were Newcastle and Birmingham followed by Stoke-on-Trent, London and Sheffield.
Least likely to suffer a bed malfunction were the people of Bristol.
Chris Tattersall, of bedding specialists thewoolroom.com, which quizzed 1,506 couples, said: “We were truly shocked by our findings.
“There are obviously a lot of passionate people out there.
“We spend an average of a third of our life in bed so it is really important to create an environment that is a sanctuary — and also up to the demands of passionate love-making.”
