I’m a teen mum to a four-year-old & change my look when I talk to her teacher – it’s the only way I’m taken seriously
A TEEN mum confessed she completely changes her style when she meets her daughter’s teacher so they don’t judge her.
Maddie Lambert, 19, gave birth when she was 14-years-old and now works full-time as well as attending university, all while looking after her four-year-old daughter, Everly.
But despite the mum’s work ethic she still wants to appear more ‘adult’ when around her daughter’s teacher.
In a bid to be taken more seriously, the young mum ditched her laid-back style and went with something out of her comfort zone.
Posting a clip on YouTube, she showed off her high heels, satin top and high waisted jeans.
She captioned the video: “Me dressing as an adult mom for my daughter’s teacher so no one knows I’m 19.”
Usually Maddie, who’s from Fort Worth, Texas, wears baggy hoodies and t-shirts with leggings and trainers – a far cry from her ‘adult’ look.
Previously, the mum told Truly she’s received a lot of hate since first becoming pregnant, so decided to let the experience make her, not break her.
“The hate made me want to do better, it made me want to show them I’m going to be the best mum ever, even though I’m young,” she explained.
People were quick to reassure the mum that her daughter’s teacher wouldn’t judge her, no matter what she wears.
One wrote: “As a teacher myself, I can confirm that none of us care about how old a parent is, it just makes us happy when parents show up for parent teacher conferences.”
A second agreed: “We know ma’am, a tank top and some jeans won’t change your age.
“But also, none of us care about your age.”
Meanwhile, other users suggested how Maddie could improve her ‘adult’ look.
“Throw a blazer on the shiz babe! Instant mom energy,” one joked.
And another said: “You legit look 16… I would think you are the older sister posing as the mom.”
