Watch snow fall in Cupertino and Los Gatos hills

Overnight snow appeared in the most unexpected places Friday morning including the Los Gatos and Cupertino hills.

At least one foot of snow accumulated outside of Bart Giordano’s Los Gatos home, he told CNN, and he lost power as well. In Los Gatos, 1,800 feet above sea level, the Old Santa Cruz Highway and Soquel San Jose Road also were closed.

And a PG&E camera captured the flurries in Cupertino. A timelapse video compressed three hours of snow in ten seconds.

Rain and snow are expected intermittently into early next week, according to the weather service.
