Flights fiasco is a hit and miss affair, says JENNIFER SELWAY

The idea of missing a plane is alien to me. If I'm advised to turn up at the airport three hours ahead of an international flight, I'll turn up four hours ahead, just to be on the safe side. If there's a queue at security I start to hyperventilate. And once I'm airside, I'll position myself as close as possible to the departure gate.
